MEDEQUIP PRODUCT GUIDE
CPM Machines
A CPM machine gently bends and straightens your knee while you relax, helping keep the joint moving and ease stiffness during recovery.
Motion • Setup • Home Recovery

A continuous passive motion machine, or CPM, slowly bends and straightens a joint while you relax. A knee CPM supports the leg in a cradle and moves through the range your clinician prescribes.
When might a knee CPM be used?
A surgeon may include CPM after selected knee procedures or for a particular motion goal. Your surgeon determines whether to use it, when to begin, and how much to bend and straighten the knee. The CPM can be used for both the Hip and the Knee. It is used to reduce pain, swelling, and improve range of motion.
Equipment and home setup
Where available, Medequip can arrange delivery, setup, instruction, and pickup. At setup, confirm the treated leg, the starting range, daily schedule, and whom to call for a change. Keep the knee aligned with the machine as demonstrated. Do not force motion through sharp pain or change settings on your own. Stop and contact your care team for unexpected severe pain, numbness, circulation changes, or equipment problems.
Insurance and rental
Coverage depends on the exact procedure, timing, payer policy, and medical documentation. A plan may list CPM as a covered benefit but only pay for certain operations. Medequip can review your prescription and benefits and discuss the rental terms and estimated patient responsibility. If you are interested in renting a CPM, visit our Ortho Supply site.
