Recovery sleeves provide soft coverage and comfort around a joint or limb. They do not hold a healing repair in place like a rigid brace. Some sleeves apply compression; Reparel’s knee sleeve is explicitly non-compressive. Ask your care team which type fits your situation, especially after surgery.
When are recovery sleeves used?
People may use them during rehabilitation, daily activity, or under a brace when the treating clinician approves. Follow the surgeon’s instructions about incision care, dressings, swelling, and when it is safe to cover the skin. A sleeve should feel comfortable and should never cause tingling, discoloration, or increased pain.
How to choose and wear one
Measure using the manufacturer’s size guide. Put the sleeve on smoothly without folding or rolling the edge, and check your skin after wear. Follow washing directions. Some products here provide targeted compression, while others are non-compressive comfort sleeves. If you need a prescribed compression garment, blood-clot prevention, ligament stability, or postoperative motion control, ask your care team which device is appropriate; these options are not interchangeable.
SELECTED SOLUTIONS
Recovery and compression sleeve options
Options range from non-compressive recovery sleeves to targeted compression supports. Choose by body area, fit, and your clinician’s plan; a comfort sleeve does not replace a prescribed stabilizing brace.
Medequip isn’t tied to one manufacturer. We work with a range of brands, and the products below are just a few examples of what we can provide.
Reparel Knee Sleeve
A breathable, non-compressive recovery sleeve with flexible stays to resist bunching. It can be worn under some braces for comfort and coverage, when the clinician approves; the manufacturer describes an infrared-reflective fabric, but individual results vary.
