WHAT TO EXPECT

The referral process, step by step

Select the equipment

Choose the product. Provide the name of the product or the HCPCS code

Send the referral

Fax the signed order to (949) 425-1738 with patient contact and insurance information, relevant clinical notes, and measurements or product details when applicable.

Medequip reviews the packet

We check the order, run insurance benefit/eligibility information, review documentation, and any authorization requirements. We may ask your team for additional records or clarification.

Coverage and patient outreach

We review available benefits and patient responsibility when possible, and contact the patient to discuss the equipment, and coordinate delivery.

Fitting or delivery is coordinated

Once the order is ready to move forward, we coordinate the appropriate fitting, pickup, shipment, or delivery and equipment instructions. Rental terms and return steps are explained when applicable.

Questions and follow-up

Our team can help with product support, order-status, and billing questions. Our goal is to limit patient questions back to the referring physician. Allowing you to spend time on the clinical side.

REFERRAL CHECKLIST

What to include

Signed order or prescription.
Patient name, contact details, and current insurance information.
Prescriber and practice contact information.
Diagnosis, relevant visit or operative notes, and measurements when required for the item.
Any payer-specific authorization or documentation already available.
