About us

Medequip O&P is our full-service Orthotics and Prosthetics business located in Vail, CO. We handle the full range of indications, and create customized solutions using state-of-the-art technology. Our philosophy centers around our community. We take the time to get to know you, understand your concerns and your goals, so that we can provide you with the best outcome possible. Here is why many of our patients have entrusted us with their care, and why we believe you should too:

Expertise

Our clinicians have deep clinical and field experience, which means that our patients will receive unrivaled care and support through their healthcare journey.

Hyper-personalized Care

We believe that every person is unique, and every case is unique. So too should our solutions. Whether it be a custom AFO, a cranial helmet for your child, or prosthetic leg, our team will give you the individualized attention that you deserve.

Technology

Medequip O&P strives to be at the forefront of innovation and technology. We believe that by doing so, we can increase access, while simultaneously reducing, the cost of care.

Community

We are nothing without our community. That is why we believe it is important to play an integral role in shaping our community and providing the best care possible. We partner with local organizations, including the Vail Veterans Program, to give back to the community that allows us to do what we love.

Proximity

All too often we would hear of stories about patients having to drive hours to the closest O&P shop to receive quality care. As a long-time members of the Vail community, we decided that there was a need to bring world-class O&P services to the Summit, Eagle, Pitkin, and surrounding counties.

As part of your onboarding process, Medequip O&P will work closely with your previous O&P care provider to ensure a seamless transition and no lapses in care. Tell us who your previous provider was, and we will do the rest!

Our Process

Our goal is to make your experience as smooth and as simple as possible. Throughout our relationship, we will work closely with your care team – including your physician, occupational therapist, and physical therapist.

Patient Evaluation

We will request any and all insurance information, and medical documentation from you and or your doctor.

At your first appointment, you will meet your Prosthetist or Orthotist, where they will review your medical documentation and ask you questions to learn more about you. It is important for our staff to understand you and your goals so that we can make the appropriate recommendations. Measurements will be taken, and in some cases, a 3D rendering (or physical cast) will be made to create a customized fit. Once your consultation is complete, your Prosthetist or Orthotist will give their recommendation based on their observations.

Ordering and Fabrication

After the consultation, we will go over insurance coverage and potential out of pocket expenses. During this process, the equipment that was prescribed by your physician, and supported by your Certified Prosthetist and/or Orthotist, will be readied for final fitting and delivery. This could including adjustments to a pre-fabricated product or ground-up fabrication of a custom device.

Fitting and Delivery

In order to ensure a proper fit and function, your Certified Prosthetist and/or Orthotist will make any last minute adjustments to the equipment. Your Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist will provide you with donning and doffing instructions as well as a wearing schedule so that you can gradually become accustomed to wearing it. Once you are comfortable with the fit of your equipment, you will be on your way!

Who we Serve

We specialize in lower extremity orthotic and prosthetic devices. Our team is educated and trained to design, fabricate, and fit orthoses and prostheses for patients with mobility challenges.

In addition to adults, our team is trained, and has deep expertise, in assisting pediatric and youth patients. We understand that as a child grows, their orthoses and prostheses may need to be adjusted in order to give them the support they need through their development.
